May 06, 2024

Craving something sweet but don't want to derail your fitness goals? A protein mug cake is the perfect recipe to hit your macros and satisfy your sweet tooth. This single-serving dessert is quick to make and packs a punch of protein, while providing the nutrients your body needs. You can whip up in just a few minutes, making it ideal for a post-workout treat or a guilt-free dessert.

What You'll Need:

  • 1 scoop of BioHealth Nutrition's Strawberry Shortcake Precision ISO protein
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1-2 tablespoons milk or a non-dairy alternative (adjust for desired consistency)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Sweetener to taste (like honey, or maple syrup)

Optional Add-Ins:

  • Chocolate chips or cacao nibs
  • Peanut butter or almond butter
  • Sliced Strawberries

Directions:

  1. In a microwave-safe mug, combine the protein powder, and baking powder. Mix until evenly combined.

  2. Crack the egg into the mug and add the milk and vanilla extract. Stir until the mixture is smooth and there are no lumps. The consistency should be like a cake batter—if it's too thick, add a bit more milk.

  3. If you want to add chocolate chips, or other extras, now is the time to do so. Stir them into the batter.

  4. Microwave on high for 60-90 seconds. The exact time may vary depending on your microwave's power. Start with 60 seconds and check to see if the cake is set in the middle. If it's still gooey, continue microwaving in 10-15 second intervals until cooked through.

  5. Allow the mug cake to cool for a minute or two before eating. This will help it firm up and be easier to enjoy.

  6. Enjoy!
