Vitality is a red spinach extract supplement powder with 1,000mg of non GMO red spinach extract in every scoop. Red spinach is naturally rich in dietary nitrate, which your body converts to nitric oxide. Vitality supports nitric oxide, blood flow, circulation, energy and endurance, and helps reduce muscle fatigue. It is vegan, gluten free and stimulant free.
Yes. The red spinach extract inside Vitality is OxyStorm®, at 1,000mg per 2.56g scoop. It is the extract used in a 2017 placebo controlled exercise trial published in the journal Sports.
Each 2.56g scoop has one active ingredient: 1,000mg of non GMO red spinach extract (as OxyStorm). The other ingredients are natural flavors, citric acid, stevia extract and silicon dioxide. Vitality comes in one flavor, Cherry Lime, with 30 servings per tub. It has no caffeine, no stimulants and no artificial sweeteners.
Take Vitality 15 to 30 minutes before training, or daily as needed. Mix 1 to 2 scoops with 8 to 12 oz of water or your beverage of choice. In a published trial, blood nitrate was 255% above baseline 65 to 75 minutes after a single 1,000mg dose of red spinach extract. The two trials that improved cycling performance also dosed daily for 6 to 7 days first.
Red spinach extract carries far more nitrate per gram: about 90mg, against roughly 11mg in the average beet powder. One scoop of Vitality holds the nitrate of about 8 grams of beet powder. Beet root has the larger body of research, and no trial has compared the two head to head. Our red spinach vs beet root guide on the research blog lays out every study.
Yes. Vitality has no caffeine or other stimulants, so it adds no stimulant to a pre workout or a morning coffee. It mixes into water, a shake or a greens drink. CreActive, our stimulant free creatine HCL formula, uses the same 15 to 30 minute window before training.
Check with your doctor first if you take blood pressure or heart medication, or have a heart or blood pressure condition. Do the same if you're pregnant, nursing or under 18. Vitality supports blood flow and circulation, the same area those conditions and medicines affect. It's a dietary supplement, not a treatment.

One scoop of Vitality gives you about 90mg of dietary nitrate. Two scoops, the top of the label range, carry about 180mg.
That figure comes from the extract's standard. Red spinach extract is standardized to more than 9% nitrate by the manufacturer's specification, so 1,000mg of extract works out to about 90mg.
The red spinach trials used 1 to 2 grams of extract a day, about 90 to 180mg of nitrate. One or two scoops of Vitality match those doses.
You should be able to see what a scoop did in research, so each row is one published trial of red spinach or amaranth extract, with what it measured and the dose behind it.
| Benefit | What the trial measured | Dose | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Higher blood nitrate | Up 54% at 30 minutes and 255% at 65 to 75 minutes, 15 healthy adults | 1,000mg, single dose | Haun 2016, European Journal of Applied Physiology |
| Nitrate that lasts | Blood nitrate above placebo for at least 8 hours, 16 healthy adults | 2g amaranth extract, single dose | Subramanian 2016, Nutrition |
| Blood flow | Peak calf blood flow up 13.7% | 1,000mg, single dose | Haun 2016, European Journal of Applied Physiology |
| Endurance threshold | Oxygen uptake at the ventilatory threshold up 6.1%, time to exhaustion unchanged | 1,000mg, 65 to 75 minutes before | Moore 2017, Sports |
| Cycling time trial | 4 km time from 410.6 to 404.6 seconds, power from 181.6 to 185.9 watts, 17 adults | 1g a day for 7 days | Gonzalez 2021, Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research |

Red spinach extract is concentrated and standardized, so the label tells you how much nitrate is in each scoop. Whole leaf red spinach powder is the dried, ground leaf. It keeps the fiber of the leaf, but its nitrate is not standardized.
Nitrate in leafy vegetables shifts with soil, fertilizer and growing season, as a 2009 review in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition describes. Concentrating the leaf into an extract is how you get a known dose in a 2.56g scoop.
If you want greens and fiber, eat the leaf or a whole leaf powder. If you want a measured nitrate dose before training, the extract is the form the studies used.
| Measure | Red spinach extract | Whole leaf red spinach powder |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Leaf concentrated for its nitrate | The dried, ground leaf |
| Nitrate per serving | Standardized, about 90mg per 1,000mg | Not standardized, varies with the crop |
| Fiber | Not a fiber source | Keeps the fiber of the whole leaf |
| Used in the exercise trials | Yes, 1 to 2g a day | No, the trials used extract |
If you have seen both at the store, you are looking at two different plants. Red spinach is a leafy amaranth. Green spinach, the kind in a salad bag, is Spinacia oleracea.
As food, both are good for you, and each wins on different nutrients. Per 100g raw, USDA data for amaranth leaves shows more vitamin K, calcium and vitamin C. USDA data for green spinach shows more iron, folate and vitamin A.
Both leaves carry dietary nitrate, like most leafy greens. The exercise trials, though, used red spinach extract, which is why Vitality is made from it.
| Per 100g raw leaf | Red spinach (amaranth) | Green spinach |
|---|---|---|
| Calories | 23 | 23 |
| Vitamin K | 1,140mcg | 483mcg |
| Calcium | 215mg | 99mg |
| Vitamin C | 43mg | 28mg |
| Iron | 2.3mg | 2.7mg |
| Folate | 85mcg | 194mcg |
USDA FoodData Central, SR Legacy: amaranth leaves, raw (168385); spinach, raw (168462). These are food values for the leaf, not for an extract.
| Measure | Vitality red spinach extract | Average beet root powder |
|---|---|---|
| Nitrate per gram | About 90mg | About 11mg |
| Powder for about 90mg of nitrate | 1 scoop | About 8 grams |
| Nitrate from product to product | Standardized extract, 1,000mg per scoop | 7 to 62mg per gram across 13 powders tested |
Figures from published nitrate analyses: Moore 2017 for red spinach extract, Gallardo and Coggan 2019 and Gozzi 2025 for beet root. See every study behind these numbers in our red spinach vs beet root comparison.
Red spinach is a leafy amaranth, naturally rich in dietary nitrate. One scoop of Vitality carries about 90mg of it.
Your body converts that nitrate to nitrite, then to nitric oxide. Nitric oxide supports vasodilation, the widening of blood vessels.
Wider vessels let more blood reach the muscles you are training. That supports circulation, energy and endurance.
One everyday habit can get in the way. Bacteria in your mouth handle the first step, turning nitrate into nitrite.
In a 2008 study in the journal Nitric Oxide, rinsing with an antibacterial mouthwash before a nitrate dose markedly blunted the rise in blood nitrite in seven healthy volunteers. If you use an antibacterial rinse, keep it away from the time you take your scoop.
Take Vitality 15 to 30 minutes before training, or daily as needed. Mix 1 to 2 scoops with 8 to 12 oz of water or your beverage of choice.
Blood nitrate rises fast and stays up. In a 2016 study in the European Journal of Applied Physiology, one 1,000mg dose of red spinach extract raised blood nitrate 54% by 30 minutes and 255% by 65 to 75 minutes.
A 2016 study in Nutrition found a single 2g dose of amaranth extract kept blood nitrate above placebo for at least 8 hours. So if your workout is an hour or two away, a scoop now still lands inside that window.
The two trials that improved cycling performance also dosed every day for 6 to 7 days first. Daily use in the week before an event matches that research. With no caffeine in the tub, an evening session is fine too.

No caffeine and no stimulants. Train late, or keep your morning coffee, without stacking one stimulant on another.
1,000mg of red spinach extract per scoop supports nitric oxide, blood flow and circulation. Gram for gram, that is 5x the nitrate of beet powder.
One active ingredient, sweetened with stevia extract. Vegan, gluten free and non GMO, with 30 servings per tub.

"This drinkable powder is a good way to provide this product (better than the pills). I am a believer in its ability to increase N2O in the blood and it does have a positive impact on BP (per home testing)."
"Haven't had it long so can't give an accurate review person. Shipping was a little long and as far as taste it's ok, but way too sweet."

"I use this because I’m a breast feeding mother and have to limit what I put in my body. It works pretty well to not have any of the usual pre workout ingredients"
"This stuff really works. I take it before workouts and have noticed that I am able to exercise more vigorously without getting winded as fast."
"I like the NO boost for pre workout, and no caffeine, but the taste is not great maybe they need to make some different flavors, but it is in my opinion way too sweet would be nice if they cut out about half of stevia in it. I feel like I have to hold my nose to get it down. May need to look for different products."
"This is amazing, nitric oxide off the charts!!"
"I have not received my order.."
